I grew up in Utah, earned my Bachelor of Science at the University of Utah, then headed to New York for my DDS at NYU School of Dentistry. After that, I completed a residency at the West LA VA Hospital — treating veterans with the most complex dental and medical cases taught me to stay calm under pressure and never cut corners. When I finished, I drove down to Huntington Beach and knew immediately: this was home.
I started Peninsula Dentistry from scratch — no big marketing budget, just good work, one patient at a time. Over 20 years later, most of our patients still find us through word of mouth: a friend tells a friend, a family sends their family. That trust means everything. I've raised my three daughters here, and being a dad shapes how I run this practice — your family matters to me because I know what family means.
Outside the office, I'm a total foodie (ask me about the best new spot in HB), I love cruises and traveling with my girls, and my house is a little zoo — koi pond, a cat named Levi, and exotic birds. I genuinely enjoy getting to know every person who sits in my chair. Don't be surprised if we end up chatting about travel, food, or the best hiking trails in Orange County.

Dr. Ilan K, Orthodontist

We're thrilled to welcome Dr. Ilan K to the Peninsula Dentistry family as our in-house orthodontist. Dr. Ilan K earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from the Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry of USC and completed his specialty certification in Advanced Education in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics at Roseman University, following a summa cum laude undergraduate degree from UCLA.
With years of clinical orthodontic experience in both pediatric and multi-specialty settings, Dr. Ilan K provides comprehensive orthodontic care including braces and clear aligners, interceptive orthodontics, space management, and treatment planning for complex developmental cases. He has extensive hands-on experience treating children, teens, and adults.
Known for his warm personality, patience, and meticulous attention to detail, Dr. Ilan K is committed to helping every patient achieve a healthy, confident smile through modern, individualized orthodontic care.
